Tyren

The only kingdom to survive the destruction of the empires many years ago is the city-state of Tyren. Even so, ‘survived’ may be inappropriate to describe its current state. A sprawling industrial city of smoke choked spires, caste separation of rich and poor, and crumbling streets due lack of city works, the megalopolis of Tyren covers the entirety of the Tyrens Top – the tallest crag in all the land. Its location at the mouth of the mighty Riverest and above the mineral & gem rich mines of the Delvingdeep halls guarantees its dominance of economics on the Top Rift. Dwarven steel and illicit goods from Tyren are sent to the far ends of the world of Travelar, and merchant nobles from afar travel to the city to barter in its oft dangerous and bizarre bazaars. All manner of baronies and petty lordships throughout the land of Travelar recognize the banner of Tyren as a symbol of power, influence, and fear.

The city is known by inhabitants as the Dark Spire, partly due to the lair of the city’s ruler – a wondrous black tower fortress levitating and orbiting above the highest ramparts of the city – as well as the high rate of crime and lawlessness within its gates & piers. The city is under totalitarian rule by the Tiefling Archmage Sarraz Gar and her human companion Vursermane along with a massive league of fell guardians, mercenaries, and sellswords.
